HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- A low-cost target missile built from surplus government equipment was successfully tested today by the Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command . Economical Target-1 was launched from the Santa... The missile is designed to be a possible target for testing of Patriot Advanced Capability 3, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense and similar missile defense systems, he said. The test information is still being processed, he said, but the flight of the short-range ballistic missile was tracked by range sensors and early indications are that all ET-1's data collection objectives were met. The ET-1 was tested using another new product developed under the program, a Transportable Target Launcher that can handle missiles with up to 25,000 pounds of thrust - known as the 25K TTL.

I was always told as a kid you could buy ten unassembled WLA Harleys still in the crate from Army Surplus. Myth or truth?
Late in Viet Nam war the army did some warehouse cleaning- some old WA, WLAs were found and sold as surplus- Triangle Cycles in Chicago got a few about that time late 60s/early 70s. Cost about $250.00 plus battery and tires to be safe, wire checks, etc-
