Eurocopter begins 2012 with positive outlook

And although Eurocopter has had some success in the United States - winning the US Army's 345-unit Light Utility Helicopter contest with its UH-72A Lakota - the larger orders, and those last few percentage points of market share between it and... According to Eurocopter's forecast, defence helicopter deliveries are set to spike in 2015, as the recent phase of orders work their way through the system. The global market for military helicopters may currently dwarf the civilian sector by 3:1, rising to 3. In 2011, Sikorsky was the global leader with a 29% market share, followed by Russian Helicopters with 23%. Russian Helicopter sets up servicing centre in Noida

Russian Helicopter had signed the joint venture with India-based Vectra Group in July 2008 to open Integrated Helicopter Services Private Limited (IHSPL). The facility will initially provide its services to civil helicopters before entering the defence arena. Talking about the future growth of helicopter market he said, "We would be bringing in 12 to 15 rotor-blade aircraft in next two years. Though India is an old and trusted user of Russian rotor-blade aircraft, there was no servicing facility in the country so far.
