McCulloch, now a drill instructor with 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, was leading his squad with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, when it came under attack on Jan. But McCulloch “aggressively drove his Marines to remain focused” and braved enemy fire to identify enemy positions and coordinate fires, the citation states. “He pursued the enemy into a nearby row of compounds and forced them into fixed positions where many were destroyed by close-air support and indirect fires, combined with maneuver,” the award citation states. At one point, he fired an AT-4 anti-armor rocket at an enemy fighting position. It wasn’t long before McCulloch took point and led the squad in the attack.Source: Marine Corps Times

Camp Geiger Drill Instructor: I am looking for a Drill Instructor named Rusty. Any one know him or can help please post, every little help would be appreciated. He lived in Sneads Ferry NC until he moved back to his hometown of Texas. This is very important to me. My father Paul Acker, here in Jacksonville, NC asked me to find this man. He was living with a woman and 3 children and they all moved to Texas in 1962. My real mother Dorreene Acker Bell will not give me his name accept for Rusty. He possibly could be my real biological father. I found out that my daddy is not my biological father 3 years ago. I know his hometown is Texas. Thank You Your help is greatly appreciated....
