What you saw in the film is only a little of what they will do. They are on the buttocks every minute of the day, looking for someone lacking discipline. When you leave camp, you will have the discipline.

The perilous battle that was fought during World War II in the Pacific at Iwo Jima was a battle against all odds, and yet this picture immortalizes the victory of young GIs over the incursion against the Japanese. By the way, anyone who knows anything about Iwo Jima knows it was a battle against all odds for the Japanese, not the Americans. It was the Japanese soldiers who knew they were doomed - which they were thanks to the Marines, not Thanks to the efforts of the U. S. military, including my aforementioned Marine father, our side had air and naval supremacy at that point in the war. These six young men raising the flag came to symbolize all of America coming together to beat back a totalitarian aggressor. Our current debt crisis we face today is different, but we still need all of us to pull together....
