“The motto itself holds potential insensitivities and implies that our fallen and wounded EOD Warriors have somehow failed,” Tillotson, who is based in Norfolk, Va. , said in a memo to the Florida school. “Throughout history many EOD techs from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, other U. S. government and civilian agencies, as well as foreign partners have lost their lives or been wounded in the line of duty. Michael Tillotson told school leaders this month that the motto could be viewed as disrespectful to the hundreds of Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians who have died in the line of duty. — The school where bomb technicians from all branches of the U. S. military learn their craft has been ordered to remove the unofficial motto “Initial Success or Total Failure” from its classroom walls. To imply that they failed is insensitive and disrespectful.
What are the differences between Army and Marine Corps EOD?
Oct 17, 2010 by LT Mike | Posted in Military
In addition to being a soldier or sailor, of course.
Army and USMC EOD are almost doing the same thing. The biggest difference is the budget allocated to these units; army is becoming more (but not as much as the Navy).

How exactly do I become an EOD squad member in the Marine Corps?
Apr 09, 2010 by Richy Horrigan | Posted in Military
It has been my greatest ambition in life to serve in the Marines. I looked around and saw something called EOD. After reading it, I am more than convinced that this is what I want to do.
You just finished watching Hurt Locker, eh?
Why not try the Air Force? EOD is a critical work enough, and you can actually call her.

Aug 12, 2010 by Sarah Palacios | Posted in Military
i was wondering what jobs girls can have in the marines...can girls be in EOD ... and what other jobs can girls have in the marine corps since we are not allowed in infintry...? i just want some job listings with some kind of action and if we can join
Yes females can do EOD. But to be EOD you have to be in the Corps for 4 years first, and then re-enlist to get that job. It is not an easy job to get. It is physically and mentally tough.
