With the encouragement of his wife, Tavares packaged his GED degree and records of his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps and, later, the Army National Guard. But once in the Marines, a first sergeant took Tavares under his wing and made sure he earned a high school equivalency degree before he was discharged from active duty in 1956. Over the years, most people forgot Tavares had not graduated with his class. Tavares was home on leave during the Class of 1954’s graduation ceremonies at Memorial Hall. Mitt Romney in November 2005, allowed veterans who left school to serve in the military in World War II, Korea and Vietnam to receive high school diplomas. He didn’t even think about pursuing his diploma until just a few years ago, after his wife, the late Ann Carver Tavares, noticed the passage of a new state law providing benefits to veterans.

okay on graduation and family day will the Marines get to wear all their uniforms? Like on family day they wear a certain one, and the EGA ceremony, and then on graduation day they wear a different uniform.



can you explain

On Recruit Liberty and Family Day and EGA ceremony, you will be wearing your cammies. The dress uniforms are saved for actual graduation because they don't want you to get them messed up or anything before the big day.
