If it were up to most city leaders, Howard Jordan, a 46-year-old former Navy man and Oakland police lifer, would get years to leave his stamp on a department that is fighting an upswing in crime with far fewer officers than just two years ago. It's up to federal Judge Thelton Henderson, who last month wrote that he was in "disbelief" at the department's lack of progress in implementing 51 reform measures it agreed to nine years ago when Oakland settled the Riders police misconduct lawsuit. OAKLAND -- Time is not on the side of Oakland's new police chief. He also gave Oakland mere months to show that it was progressing on the reforms or risk becoming the nation's first city to lose control of its police department. The reforms were to have been implemented four years ago. Last month, Henderson stripped Jordan of autonomy on several fronts, requiring him to consult with a court-appointed monitor on tactical initiatives, personnel decisions, and policy changes.
What are the different career choices after graduation from the Naval Academy that do not require sea duty?

I was recruited to play play football at the Naval Academy, but I do not want to be on a ship or submarine. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about the career field after graduation from the Naval Academy?
Just a quick thought, if you do not want to go to sea then why not look in the Marines?

Aug 15, 2007 by kay j | Posted in Military
My Boyfriend is going to be graduating soon and I was wondering if there is anything I should know about the ceremony. I heard that you are not allowed to touch them, or hug them or kiss them or anything is that true? If there is anything else you can
Once the ceremony is complete, and the new graduates are allowed to 'fall out', you can do all the huggin you want , provided you are discreet. There will be kids at the ceremony, too, so act accordingly.
