How long does it take for a bottom naval piercing to heal?

I heard that the bottom of naval piercings take less time to heal and I really want to do mine. Is it true that salt water helps because I'm debating on whether or not I should wait until summer is over to get there or if it is safe to do so now.

wait until the summer. Navel piercings can take 6 + months to heal. submit a new piercing in the ocean, sun, chlorine for pools or spas, or something like that increases the chances of infection and lengthens healing time.
