I never had the feeling that history teachers are willing to do their job of explaining the war to those who are interested.
In Britain, there are majors in war studies, peace and the conduct of the war, and so focusing on history.However military credits of these courses usually double the credits of History major, so the person can choose his title graduation.

I was informed of a program for political science majors, in which the Navy pays for grad school and you are obligate to work for Warfare Analysis & Research Department, Center for Naval Warfare Studies, U.S. Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island.
NO you cant they are not dumb and you have to sign a contract that if you drop out you have to pay back EVERYTHING nothing is free!
There is a short time you can drop out and not have to pay but it is a matter of months not years
