I was wondering what does it take to become a corpsman?? i heard that i need to take a exam before i choose my position, but what if i dont meet their standard? will i be able to retake this exam? thank you

no you cannot retake the ASVAB if you score well enough the first time to qualfiy to enlist but not the exact rating you want.

HM is currently hard to get and the waiting list to get in averages about 9 months currently.

I was wondering about women in the Corpsman  My dtr talked with a recruiter yesterday and He said there are few women and its hard to get corpsman. So just wondering on how hard it is for women to go through for corpsman. Hi Mary, my daughter originally wanted to go in as a Hospital Corpsman but it was about a year wait. :)  Hi Mary, my son is a Corpsman and we couldn't She likes the Navy (her brother is in) and the benefits for school. my daughter loves the Navy (she is a Seabee) and I am so happy with her choice. it would be wonderful if she did, as well as anything else in the Navy....
