The school has been looking to add a JROTC program for nearly five years and had approval from the Wake County School Board for a Marine JROTC program about two years ago. The Trojans and the U. S. Army are creating a Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program in hopes to help young people advance in social, communication and leadership skills as well as prepare them for the future. The first of two instructors, a retired officer with at least the rank of Major and at least 20 years of experience, should be on campus in early February. Second semester classes started last week, but the school has promoted the new program through communication with students. Cook said he hopes to have the second instructor, a non-commissioned officer, on campus shortly as well. He hopes their presence on campus will boost attention to the program and encourage more students to take part in the fall 2012 semester. However, lack of funds from the Marine Corps led to the program being dropped in Garner.

Okay, I want to join the Marines. Should I JROTC / ROTC and get a year 4 and enter as an agent?
Should I JROTC / ROTC?
If I go as an officer, do I have a chance to see the fight?
My son wants to become a sailor like me. Unlike me, he was in AFJROTC during high school, goes to the military leadership courses and summer is on the shooting team at her high school and runs five miles 4x a week.

JROTC to USMC????????????????
Sep 06, 2008 by Tyler W | Posted in Military
k im in the program of the Army JROTC at my school, but I want to join the USMC. there's one thing if you stay in JROTC for two years, you'll be able to enlist as PFC.
If you do two years of a branch of JROTC you can register in one branch at a paygrade of E-2. If you do three or four years of a branch of JROTC, you can enlist in the Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard as an E-3.

Does being in JROTC effect me going into USMC DEP?
Aug 21, 2010 by Max M | Posted in Military
so im a sophmore in high school and i joined JROTC this year but im going to do USMC DEP in my senior year would JROTC affect that in any way
and is there anything i should do to prepare for USMC DEP now
Don't look at the DEP as something you enlist into. You enlist into the USMC and will be placed in the DEP.
And JROTC has nothing to do with the USMC. It will not effect you in any way as far as what you can or can't do in the DEP.
