" were the last words he heard from ground control before re-entry cut off all communications -- a natural phenomenon that would last about five minutes. At that moment, the only future that concerned Glenn was in the next few moments. He did not know whether his heat shield was loose, and neither did ground control. John Glenn was flying backward into the Earth's atmosphere at 3:29 p. m. on Feb. If it was loose, he would perish. This was the most dangerous part of his four-hour, 55-minute flight.

Hello my friend co-worker and he said he also is a former Marine.
I thought Marines they do not like to call them self right ex-Marine? They prefer the former Marine.

In my time with the cavalry, I had drinks with the Marines and Royal Marines Our ... and when we saw the video of the Republic of Korea Marines swim in the rivers of ice smothered in the heart of winter in their underwear ... we just scratched our heads.

What are my chances of being killed in communications in the USMC compared to infantryman?

I know if you're in communications, they can deploy you. But is the risk severely much less? Would you have to take your rifle with you anyway if you're going to set up communication networks while deployed in the USMC?

I'm talking about

I am not gonna explain things to you that you wont understand.

There are many variables that come into play. It depends on your exact MOS. Some communication MOS's get sent with infantry units.
