Everything I have is a visit to the status of corporal in 1957 issued at Camp Pendleton, California that has identification numbers on it.
Best is to go talk to your local Veterans Affairs and the Marine Corps recruiter in person. And if you have a Marine Corps Reserve Center to go and talk to him as well.
You can also contact the VFW and American Legion as well.

I'm intrested in going into the Corps. But im worried about Med records. Do the Marines look up Med recoreds prior to enlistment? Im worried because I HAD HBP and took medication for it and now its under control.
I wanted to earn The Title of Marine so earnestly that I used , shall we say , a convenient truth .
I was in for six and I never regretted it ; the only thing that I regret is leaving my Marine brothers behind .

May dad, a Marine in his younger years, passed away a few years ago. May dad, a Marine in his younger years, passed away a few years ago. It is entirely possible that your father has more than one "honorable discharge" certificate. Dad was always proud to be a Marine. Dad was always proud to be a Marine. For a time, service members were issued an honorable discharge at re-enlistment....
