Developer Doug Sanford has been struggling to fill the buildings, renamed the Pepperell Mill Campus, since he purchased the complex in 2010. BIDDEFORD, Maine — It was only a few years ago that WestPoint Homes management occupied the white-and-brick building on York Street. Sanford, believes the “synergy” from these tenants will attract others to the building. But when Biddeford’s last major textile manufacturer closed its doors in 2009, management, along with more than 100 workers, vacated the WestPoint property, consisting of 12 buildings and more than 1 million square feet. The mills’ former headquarters is now home to two new tenants. Construction of build-to-order offices for a third tenant is under way. After student leaders and administrators informed students Thursday, the college announced in a press release that it is relocating its traditional campus from East Point to West Point, Ga. , to expand its capacity and athletic offerings. It will relocate its traditional campus in fall 2012 and will maintain an adult learning program in East Point and its adult learning and dual enrollment program for high school students in Peachtree City.
